PKIF: The PKI Framework
You’ve invested millions of dollars in your Public Key Infrastructure. Do your applications make the most of it? With a solid PKI Framework, they can. PKIF makes it easy to build robust, secure, correct certification path building and validation into your applications. With PKIF, your applications can use the secure infrastructure you’ve already built to create and verify digital signatures, authenticate users and encrypt data.
Tools that use PKIF
In addition to the framework itself, we offer several tools that use the framework. Some are useful primarily as examples of how to use the library, and others are tools that we use to analyze and troubleshoot PKI deployments. These include:
- PKIF OCSP Plugin– A highly configurable revocation status provider for Microsoft Windows systems
- PKI Interoperability Test Tool– A versatile utility for inspecting various elements of a PKI environment
- Webcullis– A web server access control plugin that uses client SSL certificates
- CAPI Logger– CAPI Logger is used to collect information about the usage of several PKI-related CAPI functions
- PKI Plug– PKI Plug is a revocation status provider for Microsoft CAPI
- Cross Certificate Pair Tool– Cross Certificate Pair is PKIF and OpenSSL based GUI tool that allows user to create cross certificate pairs and extract certificate from cross certificate pairs
- Cross Certificate Pair Command Line Tool– Cross Certificate Pair Command Line is PKIF and OpenSSL based command line tool that allows user to create cross certificate pairs and extract certificate from cross certificate pairs
- MD5 Shield– MD5Shield is a revocation status provider for applications that use Microsoft Crypto API (CAPI) for certification path processing
and more. An assortment of useful pieces can be found in the PKIF samples archive, as well.
